In the prestigious H10 Hotel in Los Cancajos, the opening of Zarzuela Estudio Internacional will take place, a high-performance training program dedicated to zarzuela and this year it celebrates its 5th edition. With this programming, the aim is to publicize small-format zarzuelas, composed on behalf of the Spanish Music Festival and La Palma zarzuela, which last no more than twenty minutes. The MICROZARZUELAS, based on a format created by the teacher Isabel Costes and composed by Yónatan Sánchez Santianés, are configured as “brief musical capsules” where the composer proposes small works that are very transparent in their composition and arguments. Very defined characters and interesting melodies can be a perfect cocktail to awaken the loyalty and approach of the general public to a genre that is so much ours that enjoys a significant fan base throughout the Latin world. In this new event the absolute premiere of the Microzarzuelas “Mascarones y Gigantes” and “En la Playa de los Cancajos” will take place.

Although from different cultural and geographical contexts, Spanish and Russian music share a deep love for national identity and musical storytelling. Both use the piano to express the history, culture and emotions of their people.
Spanish music, with its rhythmic vitality and vibrant colors, captures the spirit of its culture through works by Monpou, Falla and Ravel. The second part of the concert is dedicated to Russian music, highlighting Modest Mussorgsky's masterpiece, "Pictures at an Exhibition", which paints vivid pictures of Russian life and culture, from the "Promenade" to "The Great Gate of kyiv ".

El FESTIVAL DE MÚSICA ESPAÑOLA Y ZARZUELA DE LA PALMA, para la clausura de su X edición, produce esta célebre Zarzuela (Sainete lírico). Contará con la participación de los cantantes que han formado parte de Zarzuela Estudio Internacional. La dirección de escena corre a cargo de Leopoldo Falcón y la dirección musical y artística será asumida por la maestra Isabel Costes. Piano, Miguel Huertas.
La historia transcurre en el Madrid castizo un atardecer de agosto, en la víspera de la Virgen de la Paloma.
Susana y Casta, dos jóvenes trabajadoras de un comercio aceptan los galanteos de un maduro boticario, don Hilarión. Julián, un cajista, que está enamorado de la Susana no ve con buenos ojos al boticario ni sus intenciones.
Llega el día de la Verbena de la Paloma y las dos jóvenes, con su mantón de Manila y su vestido de seda “chiné”, deciden acompañar a su maduro admirador al festejo. Julián estará allí acompañado de su tía Rita, que intenta disuadirle de ceder a la ira, recordándole a cada paso que debe mantener el temple.

This chance reunion awakens not only memories and laughter, but also old tensions and passions. Between drinks, confessions and songs, the three older artists embark on a vibrant and nostalgic journey through their artistic lives. The mix of spicy anecdotes, revealed secrets and undeniable chemistry promises a show full of surprises and emotions.
With this initiative, Secretos Líricos, as an extension of the Festival of Spanish Music and Zarzuela of La Palma, we continue with the expansion of programming and the search for new audiences that in the future can strengthen loyalty with the Festival.
