Atlantic Symphony Orchestra
The ODA Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, founded in 2006 by its current director, teacher Isabel Costes, has become, after its fifteen years of existence, a key piece of the Canarian musical machinery and an exponent of the internationalization of the artistic production of the Islands. Made up of carefully selected members from different backgrounds in the Canary Islands music scene, the ODA has a musical and artistic profile that allows direct, effective and emotional interaction with the public.
Since its creation, the ODA has based its activity on a plural, eclectic and public programming that has allowed it to reach all segments of society, addressing a repertoire that ranges from symphonic music to large-format multidisciplinary shows. , passing through chamber music and multipurpose groups.
Currently there are four units that outline the ODA project covering the lines of action proposed by each initiative: Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble and Youth Symphony Orchestra (OSJA).
The ODA participates in several annual events among which it is worth highlighting: “Valleseco International Zarzuela Competition”, “Music for a Night of Souls”, “Festival of Spanish Music and Zarzuela de La Palma”, “Music Week of the Lanzarote Chamber”, the “Symphonics in Miniature” festival as well as other extraordinary events.

In the training field, the ODA has an agreement signed with the Canary Islands Higher Conservatory of Music through which students selected at the proposal of their teachers participate as instrumentalists in practices of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra or as members of the OSJA, thus assuming a commitment to the projection of young values who, once this training connection is finished, choose to be called and take part, as professional members, in the different projects that the ODA carries out.
Among the initiatives that promote the international projection of the ODA, the “Atlantic Zarzuela Season” stands out, which brings together actions around this genre, encouraging the participation of artists of different nationalities and enhancing the strategic value of the Canary Islands as a communication bridge between Europe and America.
The Atlantic Symphony Orchestra regularly collaborates with internationally renowned soloists.
The ODA is managed by ARTÍFEX PROART SL, and has the complicity of public and private entities that support sporadically in some cases and continuously in others, the different artistic proposals promoted by the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, among the worth highlighting: Ministry of Culture of Spain, through the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM), Government of the Canary Islands through the Canary Islands Institute of Cultural Development (ICDC) and Promotour, as well as the European Fund Regional Development.
